Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar's film 'Sardar Udham' received not one, wantedwin online but five National Awards within the 69th National Awards ceremony held on August 24 in New Delhi. While the director is thrilled about the big win, he feels that Vicky Kaushal actually deserved one of the best Actor award as nicely. The award was given to Allu Arjun for his performance in 'Pushpa: The Rise'. In a brand new interview, Shoojit expressed why Vicky deserved to win as an alternative.commercial

Shoojit Sircar instructed Mid-Day, "Vicky undoubtedly deserved one of the best Actor award. The way in which he remodeled into Sardar Udham is commendable. We began with the Jallianwala Bagh sequence. The primary shot was of Udham selecting up [the useless] our bodies, feeling the burden and pain. The set was witnessing that nightmare. That set the tone of the movie. Vicky couldn’t sleep for nights, and carried that disturbance throughout different parts of the movie."

Sardar Udham, which launched on Prime Video in 2021, won in five classes on the lately held National Awards, including Best Hindi Film and Best Cinematography.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun received Best Actor on the National Awards. However, the most effective Actress Award was shared between Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon for their performances in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and 'Mimi', respectively.
